New! LaunchHub Robotics for K-3

We are thrilled to announce that Robotics (Ages K–3) is coming to Dranesville Elementary!

In a world increasingly driven by automation, the most important gift we can give our children is the confidence to be creators, not just consumers. This program is designed to ensure your child grows up unafraid of STEM, capable of operating and creating freely within the world of robotics and engineering.

Our class is a high-energy, hands-on experience. Your child will work with real components like gear motors, LED lights, battery packs, and motion sensors to understand the "magic" behind how the world works. Here are examples of topics we will explore:

  • Electricity & Power: How energy is stored and used.

  • Chemical Reactions: How batteries actually work to create power.

  • Physics in Motion: How light is transmitted and how energy transforms into movement.

The "Maker" Mindset Most importantly, your child will learn that innovation starts with imagination. They will see how they can take simple, everyday objects—like empty Costco boxes—and upcycle them into functional "robots" such as cars and elevators. By turning curiosity into technical skill today, we prepare them to lead the landscape of tomorrow.
