Volunteer

Help the PTA be successful by volunteering. You can get involved as little or as much as you’d like. We have needs for volunteers to lead committees, help out at events, and complete small tasks from home.

Current Volunteer Opportunities

  • General Volunteer

Want to help, but not sure what you want to do or what is available? Let us know! We will find something that fits your interest and schedule. From making copies or managing registrations, to staffing an event table, we have a variety of needs we could use your help with.

  • General Committee Volunteer

Help out on your favorite event! Let us know you’d like to be involved with a specific event or just any event we need help with. We will ensure your information makes it to the event chair who can coordinate directly with you.

  • Website Administrator

Manage and update the PTA website from home at hours that work for you. Site administration is as easy as drag-and-drop. Content to be loaded will be provided by the board or the applicable committee chair. Training and support are available. This is a great opportunity to get involved on your schedule.

  • Social Media Coordinator

Want to volunteer from home at a time that works best for you? Come be our Social Media Coordinator. This role will help manage all of our social media channels and ensure our messaging is available online to the Dranesville community.

  • Graphics Designer

Do you or someone you know work as a graphics designer? Would you be willing to help design flyers, event materials, and social media graphics to support the PTA? Let us know! We’d be happy to promote your company on our website, social media, and event materials to say thank you for your support.

  • Start with Hello Week Chair

Chair the Start with Hello Week Campaign. You, along with committee members, will help design and launch the Start With Hello Week program. There are plenty of resources and plans already developed to make the program easy to launch. You will also have support from the PTA Board for this important initiative.

  • Corporate Outreach Chair

Building connections with area businesses is important to the PTA. We are looking for an individual that will assist with connecting with local businesses who might be willing to support PTA events through monetary or in-kind donations. We will support this individual with materials showing how we will recognize the business(es).

  • Special Education Action Committee (SEAC) Representative

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are important to the PTA. To ensure we create an inclusive environment through our programs we’d like to have this representative attend the FCPS SEAC meetings and then report back to the board on topics of interest.

  • Minority Student Achievement Oversight Committee (MSAOC) Representative

Support our students by being our MSAOC representative. The MSAOC advocates for minority student achievement. Attend meetings scheduled monthly and present to the board and general membership at our monthly meetings (either in person or via proxy).
